A question: I am a newly minted RA member. Should I book the lowest possible room at the lowest possible rate in order to take greatest advantage of the program? So even if I book a room with a twin bed, will I end up with a room with a king bed, for example?

@Rgeene Ebay! But I've heard of experiences of "lost post"... @malte53 If you send a voucher now, your new status will only last until Dec11. Renew your status, and then send your voucher. @tdmobile I've heard that you need at least 3 different IC's - and then ~60 nights anywhere in the group. Are your IC's different or the same?

Intercontinental Royal Ambassador Referral Certificate is only valid for one year ?

So my Ambassador period ends Dec11 and then I am sending the voucher to IC and they will change me to RA automatically?!

Is it really guaranteed upgrade!? I don’t have to tell them, just book standard room and they will lift me up?

I’m trying to get RA status been ambassador for 2 years have called twice and got diff answers one told me i needed 70 nights at ic only and anouther said 70 total but 16 or more at ics. i stayed last year at 85 of the groups but only 3 of the IC’s Problem is i travel mostly in canada and only have 3 cities to choose from and quite frankly would rather stay at a delta where i have top status and get upgraded to thier best suites PC does not want to budge to pick up an extra 30 nights that i stay at competitors. Any suggestions?

Have been a RA for couple of years now. Love the Club access and the drinks at the mini bar.
At IC Sydney – you get a bottle of NSW red, bottled water, plate of fruits and some biscuits or sweets
IC Adelaide – you get 2 bottled water, plate of fruits and a bag of chocolates
IC Melbourne – you get 2 bottled water, plate of fruits and a bag of chocolates
IC Wellington – you get get a small kiwi gift, 2 bottled water, plate of fruits and a plate of sweets
IC Bangkok – you get a bottle of SA red, bottled water, plate of fruits (daily replenishment)

is it possible to ‘upgrade’ to RA status online (by the ‘sponsor’), which means that you don’t need to mail in the RA certificate?
