What is IKCTA rate? how can I get discount?
IKCTA gives different benefits at every hotel that offers it (and it’s not available at all hotels). To book it:

Any idea if the ‘Up to 35% off weekend stays’ offer is likely to be extended beyond the end of May 2010?
Trying to book a hotel in London for November but it says the rate is unavailable
@Bloobell This offer keeps running and running – like the 2 for 1 deal – so I’d say yes it will get extended…
@admin
Excellent, many thanks
(Sorry about my bad english.)
I`m right when I think that you can`t get Points or Nights when you book one of these Rates?
@wolframcgn
No – it depends on the rate if you get points or not. Most rates do get points except friends and family.
Something odd about the offers above. According to their T&C’s, “2 for 1″ gives PC points but “35% off” and “3 for 2″ do not. So for 3 nights you would always do best to book “2 for 1″ and one Advance Booking night – and get points for all!
BUT – I have received PC points for all of these in the past (plus cashback at times), so now I don’t know what is actually true. The customer service people once told me that any direct online booking was “qualifying” and got points.
Can anyone clarify this? Or is it it pot luck what you get?!
@Mark Mathieson
It some seem pot luck on the 2-4-1 rate which I use frequently – but a call to the service center converts any non-qualifying stays to qualifying stays.
Thought I had a bargain on the 35% off link but then realised that the rate excluded VAT. Checked normal rate and realise that all rates exclude VAT in UK now (20%). This never used to be the case – how sneaky!
@Julie
Not all rates exclude VAT, but I think all London ones do. Sneaky – certainly. Has caught me out before
@Mark
That’s about right – generally speaking – London ex Vat. Rest of UK – inc VAT.
I hate to say it, but it seems IHG have changed or dropped these rates offers 3-for-2, 2-for-1, 35% off etc, as the links above now default to “best available” rates
(Even when the ‘rate codes’ like “IKEX3″ show in the web URL).
Any idea what is going on? Are there different rate codes now, or have the offers been dropped completely?
@Mark
it seems that only f&f is still active
@admin
I can’t get F&F to work either. A google search found this:
http://www.ichotelsgroup.com/robots.txt
I don’t know what it means, but it seems to disllow many websites that include F&F, employee discount, etc. I guess IHG are changing everything round right now – hope it does not mean the offers disappear….
@Mark
F&F still working! But only F&F
@Alexa
You’re right – it worked this time. But the F&F price was the same as the Advance Booking rate, which *would* get PC points and count as a qualifying stay IIRC, so I don’t see any advantage
@Mark
Wrong again:). I’ve tried seven hotels in Napoli and it was up to 30% discounted compared to Advance Booking. And of course you can fight for your points with IHG customer care. Almost 100% success.
I just booked a 2-for-1 in Barcelona, so that’s still working. Was 44.5EUR/nt versus 63 friends and family and 73 advance/AAA. Thanks for maintaining this site!
Looking for a Hotel in Paris I see some discounts with the “up to 35% off” promo, but I am worried about the points. At their T&C I read they may not give me points if I book with this promo. For me it seems that it is not worth this promo if I don’t get any points.
Did they give points to someone using this promos?
Thanks,
Hurry, These Deals Only Last 24 Hours!
@Mark Mathieson
I booked the 35% rate by accident, and still got the points!
@alexa
yes, the customer service people in Manilla don’t make a fuss when they see you’re Platinum. I’ve never had an issue with getting points retroactively.
I have noticed that the ’2 Nights for the price of 1 offer’ is no longer available using the link above, only ’3for2′ and ’35% off’ is available, as at 10 March 2012.
Extremely disappointed yet again to see that the offers that IHG are offering at the moment are graduated towards their American and Canadian clientel. We Europens have been reduced to 35% discount at weekends or 3 for 2. This is an absolute disgrace. Why are we treated as second class citizens. I am a Platinum Ambassador member and have been for many years. If there is no adequate and satisfactory reparation of this situation they I will be left with no other options than to find alternative providers who will welcome my business. In my opinion when times are hard you don’t alienate your clients by raising charges! I have just sent an email to IHG head office in Europe I wait with baited breath! 11th March 2012

2 for 1 new website so nice to be advised! Enjoy
Thank you for this- a very generous share. XX
@Jonathan Chinn
All of the IKEX3 family of discounts seem to have been removed (2 nights for 1, 35% off etc.) – will there be any replacement?
The new 2 for 1 website As of today. So mad that their techies keep changing the web address/directory.

Good luck
hi does anyone know what has happened to the 2 for 1 rate offer?
These 35% off and 2 for 1 rates no longer work during the week,only weekends
I Have recently booked with Crowne Plaza on the 2 for 1 deal and have noticed a fee which is not mentioned upon booking.
You are charged seperate for the second person £30.00 per night which you only find out once you have commited to staying.
I find this totaly unacceptable and think that they should not be allowed to have hiden charges.
As an update [as I check here each quarter]; IDEX1 (2 nights for price of 1) and IDEX2 (3 nights for price of 2) remain weekend rates only.
