They are taking the p*ss! These deals have been available for months – in fact the 2 for 1 offer page even says “Offer applicable for stays taken up until the 30th of June 2011″!
I hope Amex customers realise they are getting nothing for nothing – and understand what the word “exclusive” means. There are laws about trade description – perhaps an angry Amex customer should sue them – that might be fun !!

I think the 10% off mid-week is new…The rest are old hat.
Maybe so, but I have just done a spot-check on a favourite London HI hotel, and found “no availability” on the 10% off deal. But I could still book at 35% off “best flex” rates for a single Weds. night with the “35%-off wekends” rate! (A second hotel gave similar results too).
It makes no more sense than usual, but the lesson remains “always check different offers before booking”!
